Bologna FC 1909 have officially confirmed the signing of former Inter right-back Matteo Darmian on a free transfer, with the defender agreeing a contract until June 2027.
The deal also contains an performance-based option to extend his stay at the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara for a further 12 months.
The 36-year-old former Italy international was available as a free agent following the conclusion of his five-year tenure at Inter, where he registered 218 appearances and won three Serie A titles.
Bologna moved to complete the signing after right-back Emil Holm suffered a serious knee injury on international duty with Sweden that is expected to keep him sidelined for up to six months.
