Manchester United are reportedly in discussions with midfielder Bruno Fernandes over a new contract, according to transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano.
The Premier League club is eager to secure the 32-year-old playmaker to a fresh deal at Old Trafford following interest during the summer window from Galatasaray, alongside additional suitors in Europe and Saudi Arabia.
Negotiations between the two parties are taking additional time as discussions remain ongoing over specific clauses and potential performance-based bonuses.
Fernandes has featured in the starting XI for all six of Manchester United’s matches across all competitions this season, scoring his fourth goal of the campaign during the 4–0 UEFA Champions League victory against Sabah.
The contract talks follow a historic 2025/26 campaign in which Fernandes swept English football’s top individual honors.
The Manchester United captain broke the single-season record for Premier League assists (21) and was named PFA Players’ Player of the Year, FWA Footballer of the Year, and Premier League Player of the Season, alongside claiming his fifth Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year award.
