Moroccan forward Yassir Zabiri recorded a first-half hat-trick to lead Racing Santander to a 3-2 victory over Elche at El Sardinero. Making his first start for the Spanish club following a season-long loan move from Rennes, the 21-year-old opened the scoring in the 15th minute before adding further goals in the 21st and 36th minutes to establish a commanding 3-0 lead.
The performance earned Zabiri Player of the Match honors and placed him in exclusive company as only the fourth Moroccan player this century to score a La Liga hat-trick. He joins a distinguished list that includes Mounir El Hamdaoui (Málaga), Youssef El-Arabi (Granada), and Youssef En-Nesyri (Sevilla).
The striker’s display also positions him under observation by Morocco national team head coach Mohamed Ouahbi ahead of upcoming international selections.
