Genoa have officially announced the signing of 33-year-old winger Stephan El Shaarawy on a free transfer.
The Italy international has signed a one-year contract through June 2027, with an option to extend for a further season.
The move marks a homecoming for El Shaarawy, who is a product of Genoa’s youth academy and originally made his professional debut for the club in 2008.

He arrives as a free agent following the expiry of his contract with AS Roma, where he registered 66 goals and 50 assists across 348 appearances during his time in the capital.
The winger reunites with former Roma teammate Daniele De Rossi, who now serves as Genoa’s head coach.
