Al Shamal SC have announced the signing of former Manchester City and Al Ahli winger Riyad Mahrez on a free transfer, with the veteran forward putting pen to paper on a contract running until June 2027.
The 35-year-old Algeria captain was available as a free agent after parting ways with Saudi Pro League outfit Al Ahli.
Mahrez, who claimed five Premier League titles and the UEFA Champions League during his time in England, joins David Prats’ side in the Qatar Stars League, where he reunites with fellow international team-mate Baghdad Bounedjah.
