The Georgian Football Federation (GFF) has officially parted ways with head coach Willy Sagnol, ending a historic five-year spell in charge of the national team.
Former Under-21 coach Ramaz Svanadze has been appointed as his successor on a contract running through December 2028.
The decision follows Georgia’s 1-0 home defeat to Northern Ireland in their UEFA Nations League opener.
Sagnol, who took charge in February 2021, led the nation through 57 matches and oversaw the most successful period in Georgian football history, including qualifying for EURO 2024 and reaching the Round of 16.
Svanadze steps up after twice guiding the U21 team to the European Championship finals, while assistant Giorgi Adamia takes over the U21 side for the remainder of their qualification campaign.
